Today is the day when I’m posting another review. However, this time, instead of analyzing just one product, I’m going to review 6 face serums for couperose skin. I had a chance to test the following anti-redness products:

  • Nanoil Anti-Redness Face Serum
  • Dermalogica Ultra Calming Redness Relief Essence
  • PAI Instant Calm Aster Maritime & Avoine Byzantine
  • The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%
  • Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Advanced Face Serum
  • Dr. Jart + Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.pair Serum

Each one of them helped me combat the problems of easily irritated complexion and in general improved the appearance of my skin. After testing these products for some time, I feel that I’ve collected enough data on the results and performance. I’ll also share my thoughts concerning the whole course of the treatment that I went through with every product.

My way of using a face serum

I apply a face serum to my skin twice a day: morning and evening. And by “skin” I mean that I spread the product not only over my face but also over the neck and the upper chest. But before that I cleanse the skin, then I wipe it with a facial tonic – now is the time for the serum. Most serums go with a dropper which I always make use of. When the skin absorbs the product, I finish my routine with a cream that is either nourishing (evening care) or with SPF (morning care).

Now, when you know how to help a face serum bring the best effects, let’s move on to what’s the most important, which is…

My favorite anti-redness serums

Nanoil Anti-Redness Face Serum

Nanoil Anti-Redness Face Serum

I learnt about the Nanoil brand some time ago. Since my hair clearly likes Nanoil hair masks, I decided that I would also test a Nanoil face serum. I wasn’t disappointed at the results. Actually, the effects exceeded my expectations completely! Anti-Redness Face Serum is super easy to apply, and you don’t need to use more than just a few drops per application. Considering the fact that you get 50 ml in a bottle, this means that this serum will last you long, even if you introduce it into your morning and evening routine. I also like that my skin feels relaxed the moment I put the serum on. But most of all, this serum actually knows how to make my sensitive skin more resistant to irritants, so it’s no longer vulnerable to sudden changes in temperature. To sum up, thanks to Nanoil Anti-Redness Face Serum I erased redness, rosacea and spider veins from my face.

Dermalogica Ultra Calming Redness Relief Essence

I came across this serum some time ago pretty accidentally, while reading some beauty blogs. In that review I learnt that Dermalogica Ultra Calming Redness Relief Essence is available in two sizes: 50 and 150 ml, which isn’t common. Even though it’s more profitable to buy the bigger bottle, I wanted to test this serum first to see how it works on my face. To my surprise its formula is creamy and skin has no problems with absorbing it. However, I hate that there is no applicator added to the packaging. As a consequence, I often poured out more product than I actually needed per one application. Luckily, the effects were highly satisfying. My skin got more resistant to triggers, so now it’s far calmer. Redness has been significantly reduced over time. Sadly, I can’t say the same about rosacea. It’s also worth pointing out that Dermalogica Ultra Calming Redness Relief Essence boosts the moisturizer’s effects, provided you use some.

PAI Instant Calm Aster Maritime & Avoine Byzantine

Let me present to you a serum dedicated to hyper-reactive skin. PAI Instant Calm Aster Maritime & Avoine Byzantine is good at improving skin’s defense mechanisms, thus reducing irritation. Apart from that, I noticed that this face serum brightens the appearance of broken capillaries. Another plus goes for the anti-aging effect. Fine lines on my forehead were smoothed out, which was a nice thing to notice. When it comes to the texture then you can expect an oily formula (contains safflower oil). Surprisingly it doesn’t leave any greasy feel on the skin’s surface, but unfortunately it absorbs sooooo slowly. The last piece of information is that the brand appears to be eco-conscious, using environmentally-friendly packaging.

The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%

Here is a face serum enriched with a brightening vitamin C. Its key function is to erase all types of discoloration from the face and deal with dullness. I also like the fact that apart from dealing with spider veins, The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% also fights back wrinkles. Skin looks glowing all day (provided you apply the serum in the morning and follow it with a SPF, which is a must!). This serum penetrates skin quickly so I used it twice a day. I know that The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% is known for causing irritation in some people, but it has never happened to me.

Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Advanced Face Serum

This serum’s texture is sooooo smooooooth and pleasant – I totally love it! Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Advanced Face Serum is easy to spread over the face and can be worn under makeup. The longer I was using this serum, the more even-toned my complexion was getting. It was healthy-looking and radiant. Moreover, facial redness is barely noticeable, so are the capillaries. Even though there are three sizes available – 30, 50 and 100 ml – I went for the smallest bottle first. When I run out of it, I’ll definitely buy a larger one. Still, I don’t know when it will happen because the price per item is pretty high – to me it’s quite an expensive skincare product.

Dr. Jart + Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.pair Serum

Green-tinted face serum that erases facial redness in a second. This magical quality makes me want to use Dr. Jart + Cicapair, Tiger Grass Re.pair Serum under makeup. It also brings relief and soothes irritation. On the flip side, this serum doesn’t manage to fix my dilated capillaries. Despite this drawback, I find it a decent skincare product for couperose skin. I don’t think that Dr. Jart + Cicapair, Tiger Grass Re.pair Serum is useless because it does calm skin and erases redness from the face. It also has a moisturizing effect on skin, which is great.

Let me know if you have ever heard about these serums, whether you used them.

Take care!
