Recently I have decided to test some cool products and prepare a ranking for you once again. This time I wanted to try DIY lash extensions. These false cluster lashes are applied underneath the natural eyelashes. This makes applying them much easier, which is a huge plus for me. Is this really the case? I have tested more than one set for at-home lash extensions using this method, and I must admit that, for me, there is no better one. I also paid attention to how the products from popular brands differ and which ones work best.
Lash extension kit is a must-have for spectacular results
I can’t hide that I was motivated to find the best possible kit for DIY eyelash extensions, because I use cluster lashes quite often. I can’t boast thick natural lashes, which means I need to find alternative solutions when doing my makeup. I love it when my eyes are perfectly highlighted, so I decided to test products from top brands that get pretty good reviews.
My ranking included the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit, the Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit, the Intro Starter Kit from Lilac St, and the Falscara Starter Kit from the KISS brand. Thanks to them, it turned out that creating phenomenal eye makeup can be very easy and doesn’t even have to take half an hour.
Lash extension starter kits – what are my impressions? Ranking
I decided to test a total of up to 6 products. Each lash kit I chose came from a top brand, so I was expecting from the beginning that the quality of the cluster lashes should be very good to say the least. This was also guided by the positive reviews from users who had already ted them. In the end, my impressions were not always as good as I thought, but I did find some sets that I can truly recommend to you.
1. NANOLASH DIY EYELASH EXTENSIONS Starter Kit
A kit for at-home lash extensions, Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit, came first in my ranking for a reason. It landed in my makeup bag as a first, and it turned out that no other has impressed me as much. Given that I’ve known the brand for a very long time and have always been satisfied with ts products, I could have expected this.
The Nanolash kit provides:
- 36 cluster lashes,
- a bonder,
- a sealer,
- a remover,
- an applicator.
The cluster lashes in the set from this brand come in three lengths – 10, 12, and 14 mm. On top of that, they come in eight styles, so every woman can find lashes in her favorite shape.
I got down to applying them the same day the kit arrived. It took me less than 10 minutes, which was a real sensation for me. Even more of a plus was that the clusters lasted for a week on my natural lashes.
2. KISS Falscara Starter Kit
As a next product, I also decided to test a lash extension kit from a brand I am familiar with. I’m talking about the Falscara Starter Kit from the KISS range. Compared to the one from Nanolash, it is certainly less cost-effective. This is because it contains only 10 cluster lashes. Since I usually use 4 to 5 of them per eye during one application, the kit was enough for just one lash look.
Apart from the cluster lashes, the Kiss kit includes:
- BOND,
- SEAL,
- an applicator.
In addition to the fact that the kit contains just 10 lash clusters, there is no remover included either. To remove the lashes safely, I used a product from another brand I already had at home. If you don’t have one, it’s worth buying it. Unfortunately, this involves additional costs, which makes the lash kit from the Kiss brand even less economical.
As for the application itself and the quality of the clusters, I can’t say a bad word in this regard. The lashes were quite soft and I managed to apply them quite efficiently.
3. Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit
The next do-it-yourself lash extension kit in my ranking is the Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit. Just like the one from Nanolash, it not only includes cluster lashes, a bonder and an applicator, but also a remover and a sealer. In addition, there are different styles of lashes to choose from, so you can match the kit to your beauty type and the desired results.
In the case of Glamnetic, the lashes should last up to 5 days. In my case, it was a bit shorter, but that may be because I didn’t care for them properly. My overall impressions of the contents of this kit and the lash application are quite good.
Unfortunately, the kit is not without flaws. The cluster lashes that come with it do not look like a premium product, as other users have also noted. As a result, the effect you can achieve with them is far from natural.
4. Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit
This time I tested the Invisi-Lash Kit, a DIY lash extension kit that the Tatti Lashes brand has added to its range. There are different styles of lashes available in it. There are 7 in total, so there is plenty to choose from. I was tempted by the Au Natural lashes. I found some information on the manufacturer’s website that they produce a subtle effect, and indeed, they did. I felt very comfortable wearing them.
The eyelash kit from Tatti can be purchased with cluster lashes on a black or clear strip. I always go for the black one. The starter kit additionally includes:
- Invisi-Lash Bond,
- Seal Glue,
- a small pink brush,
- a pink applicator.
Applying the clusters was quite pleasant for me. Moreover, one starter kit was enough for 7 applications, so its price was justified by all means. However, I will admit that, just like with the Falscara Starter Kit from the KISS range, the problem for me was the lack of a remover.
5. Lilac St Intro Starter Kit
Next in the ranking is a lash kit from the renowned Lilac St brand. It is called the Intro Starter Kit. It contains a total of 30 cluster lashes, which is a similar amount to the kit from Nanolash. Likewise, they come in three lengths – 10, 12, and 14 mm.
In addition, the set includes:
- Lilac Lash Glue in Clear,
- Crystal Coat,
- Lilac Lash Applicator.
The Lilac St lashes are very soft and come on a thin strip, so the application should be completely hassle-free. In my case, however, it didn’t go so well and took me a bit longer. Nevertheless, I was quite satisfied with them. Especially since they stayed on my natural lashes for a full 5 days. I’m not surprised that they got so many positive reviews.
6. Lashify Starter Kit
I wanted to test DIY lashes from different price ranges, so I reached for the kit from Lashify at the end. They come at a much higher price than the previous products, so my expectations from them were also very high.
Indeed, the cluster lashes from Lashify look very nice and are soft, making them very easy and fast to apply and comfortable to wear. You can even say that they resemble real eyelashes deceptively.
They lasted for 5 days on my lashes, so in this regard, I can definitely recommend them to you. On the other hand, the whole set includes only 10 clusters, which, despite their high quality, are still too expensive for me.
Which DIY lashes made the best impression on me? Ranking summary
As you may have already noticed, each set featured a number of benefits. Unfortunately, in the case of some brands, I also noticed significant drawbacks. I’m talking about the lack of a remover, among others.
After testing all the products, I found that the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit is the best lash starter kit at this time. Both the cluster lashes and all the products included in it are of great quality. Its price is also very attractive. Of course, this is my subjective opinion. If you are looking for a DIY eyelash kit for yourself, you will have to make your own decision about which one to go for.
